228. Sorry for my misconception
Went to Nagato floodgate of Tone river for mobile radio operation.
Fine weather but bitterly cold. As in the photo, Mt. Tukuba was clearly seen.
Then, I noticed something strange in the right side of the mountain.
I tried telelens, zooming in on, zooming - -, - -, - - ?? Aha, great buddha statue at Usiku.
I wondered if my beloved Daimajin* came to appear. I am very sorry for my misconception.

227. Rika nenpyou H30 (Science data year book 2018)
The year end is the time for the next Rika Nenpyou.
In the past, I once chose the larger version for legibility. But that bulk had been something goofy for me.
What attract me is this compact size tightly cramed with immense data.
Strangely enough, there seems to be no similar book overseas, and there have been requests for the English version.
If it becomes available, I think it could easily sell 10 times the present 30,000 or 40,000 copies a year.
In any event, what is required here first could be the spirit to contribute to the science community in the world, rather than the business consideration. And the "Chronological Scientific Tables H30" shown on the front cover is a product of too much thinking? It could simply be Science data year book H30 or Science year book H30?

No boat for bass fishing, only coots.
All is calm.

223. Jizo-san bodhisattva embracing a fish
At a grilled eel restaurant close to Makata shrine.
The shop also runs a fishing pond.
At the corner of the parking lot, a stone statue of jizo bodhisattva is standing.
Praying for the souls of dead fishes, this jizo san gently holds a fish on his arms.

222. Bodhidharma？
Visited Makata shrine again.
It is said that the face of Bodhidharma appears on the sacred tree of this shrine, large cedar.
Well, it looks that way.
There is a sushi shop in front of the torii gate. Its name is Daruma (Bodhidharma) sushi. The shop seems to be named after that object.

221. Yabusame*
Went to see Yabusame dedicated to Kasama shrine.
This event is held in several areas in Kanto, probably just because of its nature of warrior oriented mindset, different from that of Kansai.
It is also worth seeing those who support this event, adults as well as childs, all dressed in the clothings we find today only in the medieval picture scrolls.

220. Chichibu Distillery
Upon arriving at a temporary parking lot set up in an industrial park, I spotted a pagoda roof, which must be a malt drying tower. Well, well, Ichiro's malt is made here. So on the way home I went to see the front side.
Though I have heard that the Venture Whisky is located in Chichibu, I didn't know the exact location. This is exactly "Inu mo arukeba bo ni ataru" (a dog that walks finds a bone), and I was lucky.
